Kenwood Mask, Bloody Demo Mode.

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Just installed a Kenwood KDC-W7027, did everything they said, press and hold 5 and press reset to clear the demo mode but it keeps coming on all the time in the middle of Tuner or CD.

On top of this it won't store the panel settings while Demo Mode is still enabled.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Cheers

not being funny but is it storing radio stations?? are the red and yellow (battery and ignition feeds) the right way round?

short of that just re-check with the instructions, i've had a couple kenwoods now and very good they are too. the last i had was a rather s****y top-end silver job that did mpw/wma not bad for a unit from about 2001 ish

i have moved onto alpine now though, very very good units in my experience. does everything i could want apart from a screen. i got me a 9815RB mmmmmmm lovely unit

The MASK unit IIRC comes with a key (Infra Red Keyfob) which is needed to activate it, is this working ?

You need to push your seat back as far as it will go lift you left leg and give it a good kick.

But dont kick it too hard as you kind of damage it (as my mate found out  )

Well thanks for the help. :)

Sorted it, the manual says hold down button 5 and press reset.

What it doesn't say is you have to hold button 5 down until the unit has powered down on the reset then powered back up again. During this process the panel moves so you are holding down a button on a moving panel.

All working now. :D
