felicia cataylitic convertor

Featured Replies

Morning all. I have replaced the cat on my w reg felicia and have noticed it is still blowing. In my infinate wisdom i did not note the spring positions/washers etc so i guessed at them. anyone got a pic or correct sequence for fitting ??

ps should i also be putting a compound/sealant around the (large ring insert) prior to re fitting??

many thanks in advance

From memory (tad vague this morning too!) just slip the washers onto the bolts up to the head and then put the springs on...When i did mine last summer, it was a chew on to get the springs and bolts back in at first, but it went on no bother once i got the end threads of both bolts to bite. Tighten each bolt/spring assembly a couple of turns then do the same with the other one, and repeat until tight on both sides. The tapered flange on the cat will pull it to the tightest side if you try and do it one bolt at a time...as for exhaust putty, i was informed many moons ago you should never put it on the joint preceding the cat, only after the cat. Never caused me any problems in all the time ive worked on exhausts.
