Lights going dim?

Featured Replies

When I first got the L&K, even as a second hand car, the xenon headlights were clearly whiter than other car's headlights and much brighter too.

The other evening when coming back up the M1 I noticed that my headlights seemed quite dim compared to other cars with xenons, not that much different from ordinary halogens.

Do they have a finite life? I've had the car about two and a half years? Do the bulbs need to be replaced every so often? Never had a car with xenons before and don't know much about them.

Thanks,

Martin

Yes they do have a finite life, they do not like being turned on and off a lot. Not sure if this has been covered on forum before. Worth searching, or Google a lot of info on them there.

Thanks for the pointer. Seems likely that they are coming to the end of their life, from what I've read. I've done 100k miles and the car's a 53 plate.

Any idea on cost for replacing with reasonable quality units?

Thanks again,

Martin
