Fabia Boot Organiser

Featured Replies

Kind of boring I know, but trading down from an Octavia vRS (which had lots of cubbie holes in the boot and mine was fitted with the optional false boot floor), to a Fabia, I suddenly find I have no tidy space for all of the crap I tend to carry around day-to-day - it's all just messy and left to roll around.

What have you guys got?

I've looked at the Dodo one, the Meguiars one and some cheap eBay ones... open to suggestions!!!

or 'borrow' a somerfield basket ;)

I've got the Fabia boot net system. It works well to keep things from sliding too much. Page 17 (well, 16 and 17) in here...

I've got the boot nets too. Come in handy to stop things rolling around!

I just found a cardboard box that would fit all the stuff I needed, and put it between the "D-loops" on one side of the boot. I got a sufficiently long bungee lead (with a "J" hook on either end), and pulled it around the box, connecting either end of it to the 2 "D-loop"s on one side if the boot to hold the box in place. Doesn't look pretty, but cheap and works.

I have a Skoda plastic moulded tray and net which is sufficient. Any other bags boxes take up valuable boot space.

Random question but when one goes shopping and puts bags in boot.. what do you guys use to stop it from rolling about? I have some bungy cords atm but they're a bit of a hassle..

Get in there quick though, they'll all be gone by Christmas time, and will become 'good with food'! ;)

Seriously?!? If your shopping has room to roll around then you havent brought enough shoes!

Well you did ask so here goes - I think the passer-by who saw me photographing my boot with the camera on a tripod was a bit perplexed...:

The starting point

Box in - with umbrella in the gap

Lid on box. - this is how I usually run the car

Second box in - the problem here is that the hatchback won't quite close so I'd have to unlatch the seat backs - I could resolve it by trimming the edges of the top box slightly but I don't want to do that...

... because this is how I'd usually use the second box

I used to help out at race meetings hence needing plenty of space for stuff that could leak (oil, brake fluid, etc) and bought the boxes to go in my Freelander. The boxes you may recognise - they're Ikea and meant to go into wardrobes...

David, Are you always this well organised?

Only takes one 5 litre oil can to go loose and leaky in the boot before you start organising.

I don't carry 5litres of oil in the boot.

Sadly - probably yes... I hate to have an untidy car...

I don't either - but there's a litre bottle about 3/4 full in the left storage bag...
