Clutch Kit VCU467

Featured Replies

I recently had the misfortune to have the clutch fail in my 2.0 FSi Octavia, and the replacement clutch kit installed by the garage (not a Skoda agent, but very good) had the code VCU467.

What does this kit include? What I am trying to work out is - has the dmf been replaced as part of the job?

Thanks in advance

That would be a clutch kit - i.e. cover, centre plate and release bearing. If the DMF was replaced I would imagine it would be itemised seperately and would be reflected in the price paid!

Well the kit cost a total of £225 ex vat (at least that was what I was charged). A bit much for the three parts you mention, I would have thought?

Looks like a Motaquip part number, which for the most part are re branded Valeo kits. And I know the Valeo kit is a 3 piece. It does sounds a bit pricey for just the kit tho.

Not sure about the FSI, but a DMF for the TFSI alone is roughly twice what you paid for that kit :)

The part number mentioned is a 3-piece clutch kit (I used to be in trade and recognise the number). It is probably a LuK sourced kit factored by Motaquip, in this particular case. I think you were charged a rather high price - I'm guessing the garage would have paid of the order £150 for it.

Trade on a DMF for a 2.0FSI is of the order of £250 alone.

Thanks for the replies. It does appear I have been a bit stiffed on price, but when you are 300 miles from home and have been towed in by the RAC you can't really shop around. They didnt charge for the courtesy car, so I should be thankful for that, I suppose.
