Running a vRS after 3 months

Featured Replies

Car hasnt moved a muscle for 3 months, except a leisurely 30 mile trip to the garage

car is getting oil and filter change, new transmission fluid and brake fluid

how do i go about driving it, do i drive it slowly for the first say 100 miles then let rip, or drive for 10mins until everything is heated up nicely then give it some whelly....

i do have a new helix clutch and fly in there aswell which i dont want to mess up.....

but im aware it will probably need a good blast to 'clean' it out?

meh, it will be fine :) Just ease it for a little bit to get any corrosion off the surface of the disks, etc and let the oil circulate around the engine. Pretty much the usual warm-up time would be fine. In 3 months I would perhaps be slightly concerned about tyre flattening off but you said it did move, so I doubt it will have flattened at all.

yeah the 30 mile trip to the garage free'd some rust off the disks

pumped up the tires before hand

one at 28psi

2 at 22psi

and one at 6psi :o

must have a slow puncture or the tire isn't sealed on the rim properly, only done 1k with them, avon zz3's

As has been said, I'd take it nice and easy to start, just to get the oil moving again.

How was the battery after being stood for 3 months?
