Fabia Vrs Braided hoses.

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

After fitting yet another 312mm setup to omy mates Vrs we have been looking at the possibility of Braided brake hoses.

Now the only problem i can find is that the only sets i can find all say '(exc. vrs)' do we know why this is and is this anything to do with the fact they have Discs on the rear....... (asuming all the other models dont)

Also, i purchased a set of :giggle: 312mm :giggle: 288mm Golf calipers carriers and they came with braided hoses....... my only issue is the oposite end which fits into the bracet that is fixed to the car will not fit............ as in the std hoses that end has that collor thing on them with 2 flat spots, the braided i have dont have the flat spots............... do i have octy hoses or are they scrap to me? (can get piccys later if need be)

I would like to get these hoses fitted as my pedle is a little spongey and would like to reduce that as much as possible.

Octavia/Audi tt225 ect with 312mmm callipers are the ones that fit

They look like the ones

People on here have said the vrs (fabia) ones are braided as standard. If thats any help?

Yea, there not................. :smirk:

my biggest problem is the end that fits to the car. where they fit into the bracket for that funny clip. the Std ones have 2 flatspots. all the braided ones dont........ :wonder:

Yea, there not................. :smirk:

Lol ok then.. Learn somthing new everyday..! :p

Take a pic mate to show me but I think it's just the fitting as they crimp on with STD hoses and are a proper fitting with braided

Look at me getting my mad paint skills out B)

haha skills!!

yah dont worry mate it's just the manufacturing... they will fit. just make sure they are long enough lock to lock! (as the std tt/octy ect ones are)

Yea but cos of the hole in the bracket being the same shape as the Std ones i cant get the braided ones in the hole........

see my issue....... the wont be fixed at the end to where they should be.

The braided nut should fit in the gap, if not the metal is only soft and can be opened up for it to fit. All else failing tie wrap it securely to it

i was thinking of Fileing off 2 flats like the actual fabia ones and geting it to fit that way.............. that would work?

I would say not to as you risk the structure of the hose, 2 sides of the nut will fit in there securely to stop it spinning which is one of it's jobs. I'd be surprised if it needs any fabrication.

i know where your confusion is coming in, you think the 2 nuts going together hold them in the bracket.............

you feed the flexi hose end into the bracket, the bracket actually sits in the recess in the nut end of the flexi hose, then the brake line screws into the hose.

And with the 2 shaped ends of the std hose and the braided (one with flats one without) the hole in the bracket will only allow the std one through.

Ohh that little bit! Yeah it's fine to not have that bit to sit in so long as it's tight together and isn't hanging down as the copper pipe end is fixed anyway! Most braided hoses don't have it. Well I've not seen one yet that does

But if you want piece of mind I'd be looking so file out the fitting and not the hose :)

so it wouldent be an issue to make them fit..... as in make the flats in that bit?

ha ha paint rules

Yea just tring to reduce fluid loss. coo beans

Yes they are, just because they arent braided on the outside doesnt mean they arent.
