htc desire bluetooth octy2 with bolero options

Featured Replies

I've been given a htc desire by work. I have an octy2 09 with a bolero. I don't have maxidot or a multi function wheel. What are my best options for getting a built in handsfree for the phone. Are there are any?

I can’t help directly, but I read a report from a guy on the Audi forum that added an aftermarket Bluetooth from his dealer. The clever thing was he could then play stereo music from his Desire to the ICE system through it as the Desire supports this. I am guessing that the same generic kit might be available for other VAG cars.

The Bury CC9060 is a very good kit with voice dialling and a touch screen.

Which means damaging the dashboard with either nasty sticky stuff or holes! Yuk.

Who wants to buy a second hand car with sticky stuff or holes in the dashboard? A chav maybe but I most certainly wouldn't consider it.

Ever heard of brodit mounts? :giggle:

Hideously overpriced... NO! emoticon-0183-swear.gif Expensive pieces of plastic which have to be screwed into, stuck onto the dashboard, deform the joints on the dashboard or wedge into an air vent.

Tried it on my previous car & removed it too, then left it in the glovebox when it went, bloody awful rubbish.

Buy one of the bluetooth things that fit on the visor.

Visor kits are appauling! Brodit's are ok - Overpriced yes but better then drilling dash.

OEM Bluetooth is the way forward - I think that Android 2.2 now supports RSAP.

look around for parrot kits, there are a few about & up dont have to have them screwed or stickied, a good fittrt can sort something out.

by OEM do you mean skoda or a fiscon kit?

Skoda - I have the bluetooth option from factory which was great until it no longer lets me pair my work blackberry or any of the work blackberry's! Will be phoning up the dealer and getting it booked it. My nokia on the other hand works great!

Fiscon I believe is the cheaper option & is accessible via the stalk controls.

Speak to Ben at Shark Perfomance - I'm sure he could sort something out for you.

I have a CC9060 and two brodits, 1 for the display units and one for my HTC HD2, the brodits have not damaged anything and I find the Bury to be brilliant.

Each to their own.

I fitted a fiscon kit to my MY10 Octavia. It was not too difficult to fit and works via both the Bolero head unit and after a quick (free) update from my Skoda dealer, via the controls on the steering wheel. It work brilliantly with my I-phone.

I have had the Bury kit on my old preFL octy and fitted a new one in my FL octy. The little pad used to stick the screen to the dash did not damage it and when removed there was no sign of it being there. Why do you think they damage the dash?

The Bury kit is an excellent system with the best functionality I have seen on a bluetooth system. It may not be as neat looking as an OEM or Fiscon unit but they are significantly cheaper to install and other a lot more functionality. The fitter that did mine had not seen the Bury before. After seeing how easy ot was to operate and the voice control straight out of the box without having to train it he said he was going to replace his Parrot with one.

I use velcro to attach my HTC HD2 to my dash. Plug in usb power and 3.5mm stereo cables before velcroing.

Sits to the drivers side of the centre vent and Columbus for touch and visual access from driving position.

Provides playlist music as well as integrated hands free for phone calls via 'AUX' input.

Sound quality from phone mic and speaker is above average.

Cost $2.00 for velcro, $5 for cables.

Removes without trace on sale of car. emoticon-0144-nod.gif
