Octavia 3

Featured Replies

The Golf VII is predicted for 2013 (see http://www.autobild.de/artikel/auto-bild-11-2010_1142622.html). The year after, the new Octavia would be presented on the same (and bigger) chassis, prepared for hybrid and electric drive. New diesel engines would be presented too: 3 and 4 cylinders. These engines would mean a huge leap forward in technology, as they would meet the euronorm 6.

It has already been stated in the German magazines that the next Superb would have to be smaller than the present one. The current model is too much of a threat for the Passat and A6 (which have their succesors this year. The Passat becomes somewhat bigger inside, the A6 would be more sportive).

I do NOT want a bigger Octavia. It is fine as it is. If I wanted a bigger Skoda then I would get a Superb. I do wish manufacturers would stop increasing het size of tehir cars all teh time. I love the package that gives me a medium sized car with the most enormous boot space. Rather than give me more outside size, give me more bells and whistles, and a bigger engine for the L&K.

My point exactly. The current O2 is pretty big. It is spacious. Why would i want more. It will be more expensive as well. Keep it this size and improve the standard kit.

I do think a Skoda Ocatavia Hatchback could be what they need. In holland we like HB's. It would be slightly smaller than the current sedan. Don't care if they name it felicia, favorit or just octavia though.

I couldn't agree more. I've been a loyal Subaru Outback owner for 3 vehicles over 12 years. When weighing up which new car to buy, it ended up being a straight fight between the new Outback and a Scout. The Outback is a massive car, substantially bigger than its predecessor, almost the size of its big brother the Tribeca. Its overall bulk was a turn-off for me and one of the biggest influences in my decision to go with the Skoda.

It is amazing how cars have grown over the decades.

A Mk1 Golf is smaller than a current Polo.

A Focus is bigger than a Mk4 Cortina.

And a Mk 2 Granada has less room than a Mondeo.

Personally I don't want a bigger Octavia, but I think a tad more wheelbase wouldn't hurt both from a looks and handling aspect.

New Jetta looks like a Kia. Glad I went for the FL VRS now!

My dealer said a while ago the next Octavia will be bigger - in line with the Passat - and there would be a new Golf size Skoda to fit between the Fabia and the Octavia.

The same thing was told to me by a member of SUK staff at a fleet event held at Millbrook earlier this year.

If I needed more space than i've got in my scout I'd be thinking about hiring a van!

I wonder when the 6 seat version is due with enough room for 6, 6 foot 6 adults and without those dam stupid sliding doors

I was looking at all the cars in the dealers showroom yesterday, and found that none offer a proper center seat only a hard bump in the middle, the Yetty has 3 but the centre one is for a kid not an adult

The new octy could have 3 adult sized individual seats in the rear and the centre consul length reduced so that you dont need to do the can can to get to the centre seat, just glad mine is the small one and not the one with the big box and vents,if my consul was that big it would be kicked hell out of by now being a taxi
