mk1 vrs running lumpy at idle speed

Featured Replies

got a mk 1 vrs, runs perfect apart from at idol speed, the steering wheel vibrates and there feels a slight vibration through the car. but when you just touch the revs it goes, and the rev needle is two marks under the 1000 revs and shakes slightly, also when u turn the steering wheel at standstill the wheel vibrates even more, any ideas?

To be honest, it sounds pretty normal to me.

On my vrs, the keys vibrate slightly with the engine idling.

Turning the wheel will make the vibration more intense, as it makes the pas pump work harder, slowing down the engine slightly.

Do you know anyone with vagcom? You can adjust it +/- 100 ish rpm, which doesn't stop it, but makes it less noticeable.

Clean the throttle body.

Yeah, do that too !

Have you just bought it?

Maybe the previous owner recently fitted an uprated dogbone engine mount bush. They take 1000 miles or so to bed in, in the meantime the car vibrates like a bitch at idle

thanks for replys , its been in 2 skoda today they cleaned throttle body and put it on the computer ,no faults. it appears its a o/s suspension mount , £ 130 main dealer, not to bad for skoda!

Ouch is that labour included? The top mount alone is only about £35 :o
