Not done it on a FL but I enabled them on my 2008 L&K before I got the LED ones.

If you have access to VCDS then its in the central electrics and you have various options of Scandinavian style, North American style or do it through the foglights.

The Byte/Bit info is included in the Long Coding Helper with newest release of out software.

If you have access to VCDS you can enable DRL using the extra bulbs in your fog lights.

I have mine setup so when the lights are set to "AUTO" the DRL's are on when lights are off but if I turn the headlight switch to "O" it turns the DRL's off.

Also I have set that when I indicate and DRL's are activate that if I indicate left the left DRL goes out until the indicater stops then it comes back on bit like the AUDI DRL's although they dim not go out!
