Anyone had a 170CR Remap on a Superb?

Featured Replies

Just wondered what sort of real life performance gains are to be made? I know the claimed BHP etc.

Can it be done from new? Or does it need to bed in before having a remap? The ECU is protected now so it has to be removed to be remapped.

Look forward to any experiences/comments

We have done at least one Briskodian's Superb CR170, I don't know if he'll be able to offer any comments as he's quite a busy guy (being the site owner and all) but there is a review of his experience here: http://briskoda.net/forums/index.php?app=blog&blogid=1&showentry=95

You can have the car remapped from new, but to be honest I'd recommend 1,000 miles to make sure there are no teething issues with the car before you go and get it done :)

With the DPF in place, 205hp and 290lb/ft peak figures are nice and safe :)

Be careful doing it to a DSG model.

Be careful doing it to a DSG model.

Why?

Whats the issue with DSG?

Whats the issue with DSG?

Be careful to do this with or without DSG, if the car has a guarantee.... :giggle:

Thanks for the info emoticon-0148-yes.gif reasonable figures.

I know all about do I / dont I warranty issues, as had same dilema with my previous MK1 Fabia, Ended up waiting till I had approx 6k miles on the clock before doing this.

It is something to think about, given my Fabia figures were 180BHP, & 300lb / ft, on a lighter car. ( for me this was spot on what the std car was comfortable with, along with me being comfortable with :D ) So an Octy should have no issues handling this .

Why?

Whats the issue with DSG?

Gearbox is only able to take so much, I'm not saying it will break one, but have 5k ready incase it does.
