I have the 2 button fob for my 2001 elegance. I got the car last november and the fob worked intermittently, I replaced the battery and it worked for awhile but now there is nothing for the fob, the red LED does light when any of the buttons are pressed. I was gonna buy a replacement on ebay and get it programmed.

Two questions

Is my orginal fob fried?

Is it much bother programming a key and do I have to get the exact same type of key?
