Call them and ask, I had to go to a Seat dealer to get mine - I bet these have gone up in price again since I got mine last year :)

Yeah suppose that's the sensible thing to do, they are closed now and I'm going out, but hey I have a wonderful piece of tech called a mobile phone, doh!

Will let you know the cost later on.

Just picked up my splitter from the Seat dealer (they had a couple in stock) £29 iincluding an Ibiza aerial mast.

Just tried changing the aerial, how the hell do you get the thing out? :p

unscrew.. quick yank.. its a security thing.

Doesnt seem to be working for me, have tried pulling gently followed by really hard, it aint coming out :wall:

You Have got to pull really HARD - Frighten Me when I did it the first time !!

when standing behind you, pull towards you, not up.

Matt

Yep, unscrew as far as you can, then drop the aerial down so that it's parallel with the roof. Then pull backwards, keeping the aerial parallel. I've found that method works the best. Otherwise you'll feel like you're trying to pull the roof off :D

Damn you DO have to pull it hard, but yeah dropping it down flat does help. Just stabbed myself in the face with it though lol. The new aeriel looks way better, nice £5 mod ;)P

No a Skoda dealer cant order a SEAT splitter, its a SEAT part and not common to Skoda vehicles.

It looks far better than the original one, did mine a few months ago and had to wrestle the old one off...

Still toying with the idea of a splitter, just can't make up my mind!

You got a pic of this Seat aerial fitted?

Same.. :( Im going by less is more atm, unless its the cash in my wallet..!

I found that the splitter was a tricky item to fit. When we went to the Vag show at tatton park a couple of weeks ago I noticed that there were loads of differant makes and models using the same cupra splitter, and none of them were fitted correctly.

When we fitted our's we found that the shape of the splitter was completely differant shape to the car front bumper. in order to get around this problem we used a high power hair dryer and set it to the hottest setting, and used this to add heat to the splitter this then allowed us to re-form the shape to fit the car correctly, this is without the need to make cut outs in the back of the splitter as shown in some of the fitting techniques.

Inorder to trim the splitter down we used a really sharp stanley knife to give us a clean finish (watch fingers).

I bought mine from the seat garage in Warrington and paid £26.50

hope this helps Steve.

Splitters easy to fit. Took my bumper of to do it. Trimmed the pegs down and ends down a bit, cut two V's in it to bend a little and screwed it to the bumper

Not fitted, But here's a size comparison (approx 25% shorter)

It looks much neater in-situ and no degradation in signal quality and still retains the anti theftemoticon-0148-yes.gif
