Coming back from some last minute shopping in Colchester and had followed a very loud Scooby WRX back towards Braintree and Stansted.

got on the new section and decided to go past him on the first section,he then got past me at the next roundabout and got quite a bit ahead,i then caught him up obviously not exceeding 70mph,well not much!!!

he then went for it and i was with him all the way,upto ***mph no problem,he then pulled in and i went past him,he pulled out behind me but i kept my foot down and pulled away from him,he backed off and that was that.

nice and fun i have to admit,have to keep an eye on Scoobynet to see if anything gets posted,probably not though!!!!

Doubt it was a WRC!!!

Ok have changed it to a WRX,i stand corrected!!!! lol

Bench mark car,don't we all drive one of them but for different reasons????

i have lots of respect for Impreza's as they are great cars and are a better handling car than the Octy without even thinking about it but i couldn't resist "having a go",i'm sure lots of other drivers on here would do the same.

and Steve the exhaust sounds great when your pressing on!!!!!just like you said.

We all have cars that suit our preferences.

I just call the Impreza the bench mark as it's the car that everyone loves to beat! I am the same in my (sorry, my wife's) vRS

I really like the siund of the flat four in the prezza i would buy one just for the engine :-)

Having come from an 03 WRX Impreza with Prodrive Performance pack (261bhp) & Now Owning an 03 Octavia vRS...They are both great cars, but the scooby would be my choice.

There are pros & cons to both Models, but the impreza gave me the biggest grin when driving.

Just to give you an idea of performance, in 5th gear (top in the WRX) i could keep up and slightly gain on a Standrad Octavia vRS (going through the gears) from 80mph +.
