Way back in March I ordered my SM complete with sun roof and spare wheel.

We all know about the sun roof saga now so I wont rehash that. You might even know that SUK decided that sun roof and spare wheel were mutually incompatible due to emissions certification. Easy work around is to have dealer provide the proper spare wheel as a retailer provided item. SUK and my dealer even managed to sort out the stupidity where a Skoda provided spare is around £50 but the same thing provided via the dealer is around £250.

So, finally, it arrived, well most of it did, nice sun roof, but no spare. Apparently the factory aren't making these available until around November. Is it just me or does it seem strange that something as simple as a spare wheel (which they need to put in the factory cars) can not be provided to the dealers to sell as after market.

Appears Skoda/SUK are having a 'tizzy fit' with spare wheels at the moment; not even sure exactly what their supplying seeing the posts on the subject :S

Well lets just hope they supply our cars with wheel nuts. Who knows they might run out of those too and also decide to supply them "later".

I have a spreadsheet with all the things I need to remember to check when I pick the car up - missing options have not been unknown for Skoda - so the weeping eyes of the sunroof are on this list as well!
