hello

i have been told that you can fit audi tt bushes and rubber mount to replace the standerd ones which are in the wishbone already,

i have already replaced the wishbone about 6 months ago but now they feel like there on there way out again,

is this possible and where do you get them from

You wouldn't belive this but you can get them from an Audi dealer.

Or TPS

thanks for the part number, are they any better than the standerd ones?

is it better to use polybushes for the other ones?

Tricky one

THe TT ones are better, polys can be just as pooh as standard as some pop out.

Ive heard the superpro ones are good but have never tried them, the powerflex pop back out I know this from personal experience.

I use the TT ones myself

cupra r rear bush is the same as the tt iirc

Yep that is true :)

Agree +1

experience with Powerflex is bad.

Have fitted TT bushes in and these are great.

Superpro are meant to be good but 3 times the cost of TT bushes that are more than up to the job.

difference with VRS and TT bush is the TT is a solid bush.

Rubber will deteriorate with road salt/water/light/hard use etc...

Poly bushes won't, so although they are 3 times the price of the TT/LCR bushes they will last 6-8 times longer.

I fit poly bushes every time.

But PU doesn't flex in the same way as a rubber/metal bush does, so won't work in the way the designer intended, but a solid bush will.

But you wont get one of those designs , they have changed now

i use superpro rather than powerflex, better stuff in my opinion.

i also use whiteline castor adjuster in the wishbone which makes a massive difference to the handling. You need to use cast tt wishbones for these however.

But PU doesn't flex in the same way as a rubber/metal bush does, so won't work in the way the designer intended, but a solid bush will.

If the car was originally designed with a voided bush and you put a solid bush in surely this will work differently to how it was designed anyway?

It's been proven many times that PU bushes will out perform and out live rubber bushes. I just don't see the point in fitting something you know you will need to replace in a few years time. If you fit a good PU bush (granted this is not Powerflex as the picture shows!) you can pretty much fit and forget. No extra fitting costs, wheel alignment, dodgy garages, hassel, etc...... in the future.

I have Superpro wishbone and ARB bushes fitted. No issues after 3+ years.

thanks for tyour advice, i surpose its down to personal perferance but the ones i have got on there at the moment only last 6 months as i fitted them in febuary i would have thought they would have lasted longer than that, but its not a job i wont to be doing every 6 months

if i replaced them and tock them some where to get the old one pressed out and new one pressed in is it an easy job

Yes it is a easy job. I pressed my TT bushes in myself using a mix of under / oversized sockets and a vice . If you go for powerflex or super pro these don't need as much pressing in as such as they are a easier design but a vice would make it easier.

Getting the old ones out needs patience a hack saw blade to cut the outer bush casing and a hammer to knock through the bush
