I'm trying to find a replacement driver's side driveshaft for my '04 vRS after mine was bent into a questionmark shape by the combined efforts of a Audi A3 and a concrete barrier :(

With a lot of parts to replace to get the little beast on the road again I'm trying to buy secondhand genuine VAG parts about the same age as the car to keep costs managable. I'm struggling with the driveshaft as theres some confusion over the correct one for the vRS. Is there a part number on it? I can't reach/detatch mine to check it. Anyone have any general tips / advice where to buy? I've been advised to buy new boot kits but thats about it advice-wise.

Have you checked a dealer price? I had to buy one for the vRS estate and I was really suprised with the cost of a genuine exchange item, it was less than 100 IIRC
