TDi Estate boot install

Recommended Posts

Decided after buying a very nice head unit and replacing the speakers i fancied a little more bass so decied to do a discreet sub and amp install in the boot.

I do alot of surfing so i didnt want something big in the boot or in a postion where it could get salt water ingress etc...

So as i have the false floor in my octavia i decided to use the large amount of space behind the spare wheel in the wheel well, After removing the polystyrene bit i relised that there was more than enough space to get a sub and am mounting in there so that the false floor could still close if need be!

i am running 2x in-phase XT8 1000 watt subs off of a SPLX 300w bridged amp, Made an open sub box and soundproofed the various metal areas in the wheel well, carpeted and fitted, i did it over a week or so but probably only took a few hours to fully complete!

Very impressed with quality of the bass and the subs and amp themselves, easy to wire in and look pretty good i think!

What do you think ?!?

On the theme of OCD, possibly would have gone with a sub either side and the amp in the middle for symmetry... But that really is obsessive emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Joking aside mate, that's looking good emoticon-0103-cool.gif

I wish the hatchback Octy had the same false floor too so I could do similar instead of just having a box sat in the boot.
