Ice Inside Windscreen

Featured Replies

-4 degrees outside - just about to start a shift. Go outside to de-ice the Octy and find ice on the inside of the windscreen. There are no water leaks - car never smells damp and ice is only on windscreen. COuld this be something to do with using the blower on windscreen with the aircon? Only did a short journey last night back from work and this hasn't happened before.

Any advice appreciated - car is due a service soon (according to the dealer although the service indicator isn't showing yet and car is on variable servicing)

I would say its pretty probably. I've always found using the aircon in summer seems to get a little bit of moist air into the system. Sometimes if you use aircon then the next time you use the car with the blowers on the windscreen, the windows fog up on the inside. Its maybe just a bit of moisture has come out the system overnight and frozen on to the windows.

The problem I had was a slight leak in the door seals. Not enough to notice the carpets getting wet or to see water, but it let just enough water through to freeze on the windscreen and a make defrosting / demisting impossible!

it has nothing to do with the car its just because its so cold, i had ice on the inside of the windscreen aswell.
