Check the pollen filter area (passenger side under bonnet, below windscreen) for signs of water and leaf debris.

If this is blocked and flooding water can get into the servo (according to people on here) and I guess would potentially cause the issue you mentioned.

Unless its knackered the master cylinder (which I guess it could) they normally get no assistance when the servo is full.

But as we have had a lot of rain recently, yes well worth checking.
