Chair options

Anyone know what else will fit in the front? Might want to swap for something a bit more supportive :)

Obviously Mk5/Leon2/TT2/A3 etc, but was also wondering about A4/A6....

Anyone made any swaps?

Cheers,

Steve

Good point there,

I have had dealers looking perplexed when I ask " can I specify a better drivers seat"

the factory fit one not unreasonably being a comprimise based on an average physique blended with lowest cost

I go on to say well you are prepared.......... nay keen even, to sell my every other concivable ( & generally undeeded goodie)

So why cant i have a better seat

PS

I do not generally buy up-spec Mercs or BMW :giggle: where I do understand this option exists.

And as I found out fitting an altn seat onesself is a bit of a bugger quite often there is insufficient room /width for the better bigger seat never mind the absolutly non-standard seat fixing rails or mechanisms.

cheers

Nice - but it's a daily, not a trackday hack :D

Looking at keeping it OEM.

Just wondered if anyone had tried A4/A6 fronts.

I know the A6 ones don't fit Steve, I guess A4 ones won't either. A3/S3 will though of course :)

Hi Steve,

there are a couple of conversions with Passat seats. Dont know what has to be altered, but know that at least 2 Octavias in D have passat seats.

Correct the A6 seats are the same fitment as the B5/B5.5 Passat and MKI Superb, the MKI A3 is the same as the MK4 Golf (and MKI Octavia) these will not fit either. Not sure what the MKII A3 runners are like, but at a guess they will be the same as the MK5 Golf (so will fit).

These are piccies I took out of our forum, seats are from a passat 3C

B6 / B7 A4 / RS4s fit with a tiny mod.

What about leather Recaros from a Golf V R32?

Thanks for that guys. Usual to have some info about A4/A6 seats.

It's a plan that's on the back burner at the moment anyway, especially as after fitting proper suspension, the sway and roll of the standard suspension is gone, meaning I don't get pushed out of the standard Elegance seats quite as much :D

Those CC ones look lovely though Magic

mk5 GTI with RS4 seats.

I wish they would get rid of that hard bit on the outer edges of the front seats, where you can jack them up or down, as I find the seats a bit to far from the door opening and they dig into the back of your legs as you get out

The A3 and A4 seats are thicker but should fit okay as the interior sizes are very similar.

Don't think I've not been tempted by Sportster CSs Rob! An epic bit of chair B)

Problem is I don't want to spend that much either! And I've seen those Mk5 Recaros too. But I'd not part with £1200.

RS4s would just be superb, but I'll just carry on dreaming...

And profle, thanks. I know 8P A3 front seats will be a direct swap. But for A4 seats I was asking more because of the different floorpan, I didn't know if the seat runners were different, and set a further distance apart.
