Rear wiper woes

Featured Replies

Can anyone help?

My rear wiper on my Fabia has started having a mind of its own......when on intermitent wipe, it only wipes a quarter of the rear window at a time, then halt then move another 1/4, halt.......you get the picture. So it will take about 10 secs to do one complete wipe.

Something simple like the relay going up the swanny would be a nice answer, but knowing my luck not a chance!!!!!

Any ideas?

Cheers

my bro had a simalr problem to this and all it was the wire (connector) was a bad connection.

so all i can say is if you havent tryed the simple things then try these first

Cheers, will try and check that out. Will have to have fun trying to get the rear panel unclipped....joy!!!

Many thanks.

My Polo does the same, and they are known for the washer pipe to pop off and muller all the boot electrics, so could well be some water ingress or a dodgy connection.

Odd though as it washes fine and works fine on the intermittent setting, just doesn't wipe properly if doing a single wipe.

Getting the cover off isn't too bad. use a long screwdriver to prize off one corner, then pull the rest off with your hands. I found putting it back a bit of a pain, remember to thread the hatch pull thing through.
