Skoda Felicia Rally Car Project

Featured Replies

This is a Skoda Felicia rally car/trackday car project. It is on an N registration, registered as a Laurin and Klement model, and includes a brand new Felicia Shell (cost £1200, no longer available), fitted with a top-specification weld-in rollcage (very similar to the Custom Cages international-spec cage, this features extensions to the front turret area, X-shaped door bars, V-shaped tunnel-brace, X-diagonal rear support AND harness bars, all professionally fitted at a cost of nearly £2000). The shells come in LHD configuration (no RHD bare shells were ever sold), but is an easy conversion to RHD should you wish (steering column support needs moving (spot welded only), a hole in the bulkhead to be cut (steel pressing is already the correct shape), pedalbox is a bolt-on fit to holes that are already present. Parts are included for both LHD and RHD - the LHD and RHD dashboards are included.

Donor car parts include:

  • Left-hand drive and Right-hand drive dashboards and all fittings
  • Doors with glass and interior panels, including electric window motors
  • Tailgate with glass
  • Front and Rear bumpers
  • Headlights and rear lights
  • Bonnet
  • Complete LHD wiring loom with fusebox, switches, etc. RHD looms are easily available.
  • Rolling shell components (front and rear subframes with suspension) with LHD quickrack.
  • Boxes of other parts removed from original donor car - bolts, screws, etc.
  • Good (all same key) lockset
  • Engine and gearbox (standard)
  • Exhaust system (standard)
  • Lots of other bits and pieces

This car is an ideal project to build a top-quality Felicia rally or trackday car. The most expensive and difficult part of the build has been done, and to a very high standard - the cage is a work of art, with welding of the highest quality, using 42 (X-bars, hardness bar and rear under-brace), 45 (side hoop, X brace at rear and roof bar) and 50mm (main hoop) CDS tubing. The shell is, as you would expect, unmarked. All the parts are taken from the same car, so registration of the vehicle with the new bodyshell will be straightforward once it is all built up (the DVLA uses a points system, and the parts used easily exceed the figure needed to retain the registration). Once you have transferred the ID, this is an ideal car to build with a larger, more powerful engine. There is lots of room in the engine bay, meaning that fitting a Vauxhall C20XE or X18XE1 engine is straightforward (using Audi wheel bearings allows you to use the Skoda uprights with standard Vauxhall hubs), or an even easier conversion is to use the Polo 1.4 16v engine OR a 1.6 16v engine mated to the Skoda gearbox (only an engine mount needs to be made up for this application, and plans are available on the Internet for that).

This is an absolute steal for someone who wants to make a nimble little car for competition or just fun use. Viewing is possible by prior arrangement (BH11, Bournemouth). Sale is due to a change of plans combined with a loss of storage space in the near future.

I could deliver, Jim - I'd need to hire a van for the day, but I'd do it for the cost of that and diesel, so it'd probably be about £100.

:wonder: stop it.... its almost crying out for a 220bhp xe to be fitted.. has the shell had any strengthening work done mate or just the cage welded in?

luckily for my wallet i'm off on hols sat so wont have much internet to tempt me into buying it but well maybe i dunno lol

dammit, i wish i'd seen this a week ago..

good luck with the sale
