Featured Replies

Congrats Kitten & Macdemon on the 60 plate Yeti! Let us know how the DSG gearbox fares?

Awh Paul wait until you get yours and you will see how many we use for you!!!! Your day will come!

Yes well hopefully first week of November I will scroll a whole page of emoticons and naked ladies and all sorts of bands playing and much flag waving, and the odd photo for the connoiseurs who remember the days when yetis had sunroofs lol

(he said reservedly)

You've taught me something there Lee. Must be an addition for the 2011 model year. My fuel flap does not lock but the actual cap itself is lockable. I would rather that the flap was lockable because I have to unlock the fuel cap manually each time I refuel. Not a big deal I admit but obviously enough to prompt Skoda to upgrade the latest cars it seems.....

The cover locks with the remote on mine but the screw cap doesn't lock :dull: or am I missing something :wonder:

Same on my SE, maybe it's a 2011 model thing?

Don't need a locking screw cap if the flap locks anyway. Plus it's a lot less hassle.

Naaaaah, I'm not bothered either.....don't want the extra key to lug around and faff about with :giggle:

Normal to have a locking flap on a Skoda with a lock-less cap, unless it's a base model where it's the other way round. For example my lads 03 Fabia Classic has a lockable cap but lock-less flap even though it's got the factory central locking and elec front window option pack (which is what's causing problems at the moment :( )

Having only had the L&K I thought that was normal!

Thanks guys for your kind replied.

yes Im VERY happy with Ivor :p

A small review.

The DSG gearbox is very smooth and gives a positive result under gentle acceleration (not tried a rapid getaway yet :giggle:) The headroom is plentiful for Kitten and I and the seats are easy to adjust.

Allround visibility is good from all angles and the maxi-dot display is easy to navigate, as is the Bolero. Pairing the iphone was a doddle once Steve at Sparshatt's Skoda showed me how to....its done via the maxi-dot display and not via the Bolero as I had originally thought.

The seats feel comfortably reassuring once you're settled ready for driving and the instrumentation is clearly visible from the driving position.

Two little criticisms I have for the Yeti....

1. The VIN number or registration number is not etched into the glasswork as on most new vehicles.

2. The fuel filler cover is not lockable :o You just press the left side for it to 'pop' open and merely unscrew the 'screw-on' cap. I hope there is a sophisticated anti-syphoning system inbuilt into the design or it will cost me an arm and a leg is Joe scumbag can decant it into another container. (anyone have any comments on this????) Update.................I've been informed by redandwhitepauly (thanks Paul) that the fuel cover is loved as you activate the central locking.

Here is a pic of Kitten and I putting Ivor to bed for the night...........................altogether now... AWWWWWW

Good news Macdemon. I also picked mine up on Wednesday and must say it has exceeded my expectations in almost every regard. The DSG gearbox and 1.2 petrol engine are a great combination and overall it is a great drive. I was surprised how good a cruiser it was on the dual carriageway (smooth, quiet and stable) and we got almost 40mpg on the way home. Mrs B normally suffers from car sickness as a passenger but reckoned the Yeti was the least nausea inducing motor she had ever travelled in. As we have a big dog (greyhound) and don't often have rear seat passengers we have removed the middle seat, moved the two outer ones forwards (and closer together) and placed the parcel shelf vertically behind the rear seats to cover the resultant gaps - this gives the hound a bit more room to stretch out. I can't think of another car I'd rather have.

Sorry but I don't think this is correct.

My wife's Roomster Scout (top of the range?) has locking cap and flap not controlled by central locking.

I'm not bothered with eithe arrangement and as it's very difficult to syphon from any modern fuel tank, I think that our cars are secure.

What I worry about are unauthorised additives :wonder:

I prefer the locking cap seems much more secure, You don't have to " LUG " a massive great medieval type key around as the ignition key is used to open the cap. The " FAFF " involves turning a key not to much effort involved even for a old Yetion like myself.

Hi McD.....

......and many congratulations after such a long, soul-destroying wait!

Great to hear you're loving it. Sorry to jump in so late - just got back from being away for a while, and still trying to catch up with all the un-read posts!

You'll need a few days to bond, I'm sure, but how about the Cornettos on the Dyke now? Lets do this before I wear my SM out! BTW, I'll pay (sympathy gesture for your long wait) :'(

PM me if you're still on.....
