atmospheric dump valve

Featured Replies

basicly i want to no if i can put a second atmospheric dump valve on the cold side of the intercooler which wont efect the air flow sensor because oviously the normal dump valve is recurculating and the afs measures the air that goes back into the engine but if i cut another one in at the front part of the intercooler will efect the car . because it would sound very nice.

You can give it a try but I don't think it'll work. The recirculating one won't be recirculating as much boost as it should be because the atmospheric one will be dumping most of it to the air. It'll probably throw up a 17705 code.

If you want noise then a CAI is a better bet, or even a Split-R valve

as above. save the hassle and the risk of throwing codes up and fit a CAI with a forge 007p or a similar re-circ DV and the noise your after will be there

Cold Air Induction kit, basically a pipe which puts the filter in direct flow of cold air. usually down by the bumper grill area.

i used to have a split r and didnt get on with it (others do) i changed to the 007p and found it alot better and louder (when fitted with the CAI) if it's noise your after.

there are a few diffferent CAI's on offer at the min on ebay

the bottom 2 would prob benefit a decent k&n cone filter instead of the cheapo ones supplied but you get the idea

no probs. ye the typhoon looks a good piece of kit and the carbonio in the ebay link are good also, abd do one too. best to shop around and try some of the site sponsors ie awesome(abd) and forge also do one

!st why would you want to put 2 DV's on?

I run a atmospheric cold side of the intercooler without any problems or codes, the sensors on the car are not checking for any pressures during blow off, the only thing that you do not want to happen is turbo stalling. the only reason for recirculating is emissions not chucking oily air externally it is burned away next time around.
