Connectors electrical

Featured Replies

ref -http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/172084-felicia-remote-central-locking-guide/, great job by Robin .Anyone got any idea where to get the bits ( pins I think) for the various plugs) .I could visit a stealer ,but my last visit trying to get info on the rear hatch motor taught me that Skoda stores persons live on another planet(where everything has a part number) .Halfrauds - doubt it( mind you when I was sourcing bits for my rear hatch release their bike bods were out of this world in help).Breakers - none locally. And my one source of hope-an auto electrical place ,where I know the staff is a bit far to go .I could make up crimped splices,to make things neater ,but it looks like I would at some point need need additional pins for plugs .

These links may help with part numbers for a dealers. I buy the repair wires as there's no minimum purchase requirement and they're already crimped so it's just a case of cutting and joining the wires. I tend to use glue-lined heat shrink butt connectors which are quite expensive and a lazy method, but not as bad as scotch locks. It's a revelation on the Fabia to be able to use the empty relay and fuse box slots.

I tried buying a Laser 3932 tool http://www.toolsmartshop.com/terminal-tool-by-laser-ref-no-3932-355-p.asp which is used to removed these connections but it hasn't arrived yet. They confirmed it has been sent though.

That's an expensive paperclip! :D

Yep wish I bought a tub of paper clips instead now :D although I believe the actual VW tool is something like £40.

I'd be using proper crimps -got stacks(on all sizes) in my old component box from work ( and a proper multi crimper) , with possibly a bit of heatshrink on the ends.Don't like Scotch locks -had too many problems with them ,and don't like idea of a few amps through an IDC connector. Thanks for info .
