I read somewhere the other day that the Skoda (&VW) warranty is "two years manufacturer + one year dealer" What is the difference between this and a regular three year manufacturers warranty?

It seems effectively the only difference is if you need a repair under warranty whilst abroad during the third year you need to pay the repairer then claim back from a UK dealer.

Apologies if it seems I'm talking to myself here, but I thought others might be interested.
