Production line Time?

Featured Replies

Has anyone got any idea as to how long a car can be on the production line??

I have a gut feeling I am being fobbed off by my dealer. emoticon-0114-dull.gif

From the time that the body panels are pressed out to the car being driven off the line could take 4-5 days. The final assembly on the production line should take just over 1 day depending on the speed of the line and how many shifts are working.

Spoke to Skoda UK customer services this morning about my VRS estate which is now going to be 7 months from order date to delivery. Actual production line time is 5 days. Shipping is approx 4 weeks. There is a back log of orders at the moment, hence the delays.Good luck.

7 months. Wow. I hope they manage to find an earlier build slot for you.

Did they mention anything about compensation for late delivery?

Would be worth following up.

Sounds similar to what my dealer told me

Thanks

Do you mean literally on the production line,

Yes

Monday:

Was told by dealer that it was on the production line and should be off it Tuesday.

Tuesday:

Still in production should know more tomorrow

Wednesday:

Your car is still in production line hope it will be finished tom to make boat the weekend.

Thursday: (Today)

Email 1)

Your car is finished on production line it will leave plant either today or tommorrow I will know more tomorrow

Email 2)

I asked about compensation. It will be on a case by case basis and depend on length of time you have had to wait. I would not get too excited about it though. In the context of a £20k car, a free service or voucher for a few quid doesn't really amount to much. I 'd rather have my car on time.

All the best.

actual production build time is 1 day.

if the dealer keeps saying that its still in production, for 4 days in a row now.......i bet u that is he's way of saying that they haven't started building it yet!!!

fingers crossed he meant it the last time, i.e. car is on the boat monday.

mine is meant to have been built this week (35).....i'm waiting till monday to check with my dealer to see if really got built!!

my fingers r crossed too :o
