Who needs an Estate? Pah!

Featured Replies

Ok so we're off on the family hol tomorrow, and wifey (bless her) had decided that there was loads of stuff we would take, in addition to a bag of clothes each, all the baby gear, all the toddler's toys etc etc plus a pram, some bags of food and so on.

I was a bit unsure myself when faced with this little lot:

Kit to be squeezed into hatch

But I needn't have worried, the mighty Octavia ate it all and still wasn't full!

It's in!!

So much so, that I felt duty bound to include the baby walker, an extra pair of boots and 7 jackets.

I love my car

You're not even trying with that little lot :D

You should see how much stuff SWMBO gave me to pack into mine when we went on holiday for a week, plus mountain bikes on the roof!

Luggage in an Octy hatch?

.....bring it on

I put a boot lid in my boot with a large sub taking up some space, I still had space to spare as well.

The boots in these things are mental! Even better when you start to fill the back seats as well!! I am guilty when it comes to owning an estate though!

I got the all the stuff for a week for four, including a pushchair and my sub was still in there lol :)

One of the main reasons I bought the car in the first place - you can get three boxed HP DL380 servers in there easily with the seats up and the cover over the boot.

I think once I had about 60 laptops, plus monitors, keyboards, network gear etc. All boxed new with loads of packaging.

I'm about to need the space for the dog and the baby's stuff!!

:giggle: i love the octy boots, they are like black holes

i had a shop from the mall in there, the liluns pushchair, the 4 subs, cleaning stuff and a sony home cinema kit in there :D it took a few attempts but i got it in lol

the chocolate car for my bros birthday didnt make it tho im afraid B) it turns out when its 28'c outside things in the boot melt

i do like the 2 pics tho, maybe a game is to be made of this????? :smirk:

More room in the Octy Hatch boot than say, a 407 estate! I've had similar family size loads in the boot. Trees(!) Gas boilers, doors.....unbelievable what you can fit in there :)

slightly off topic here but i managed to get a steel bath in my mg zs hatch back seats fold down of course and i got the boot shut! my octy is immense though. used go camping with half the crap on the back seats of the mg. now it all fits in the boot of the octy with room to spare.

Well as expected my wife did the classic this morning, just when you think you're all packed she presents you with three more bags to fit in there.

Needless to say it took those too...!

My usual trick is to go to B&Q for some bits, and buy loads of additional stuff without any thought of how to get it all home. The last time I did this, I had to fit this lot in my Octy, which it did with ease although it was riding a bit lower on the way home!

Childrens playhouse for the garden

10 x concrete flags

14 large bags of bar chippings

4 bags of sharp sand

5 x timber sleepers

Plus I'm sure there were a few other bits and pieces. Had to do two trips with the trolley to the car which should be a warning sign that you've bought too much eh.

Octavia......Transit in disguise!!

One of my previous cars was a Rover 400, I thought the boot on that was big until I got the Octy!

I had a boot full of pocket Dell x50v's which I was transporting to a customer once... about 150 units or something crazy like that in the back of my estate. Brilliant

I think the my 405 estate had an equal sized boot (till the gf parked it in a ditch for me) :'(
