time to say goodbye and thankyou

Featured Replies

hi guys, the unfortunate time has come for me to sell my octavia vrs emoticon-0106-crying.gif

my little girl (not so little now) has just started her senior school which is a further 10 miles away from where my sons school is and my wife is now having to do 180 miles a week just droping both the children off to school, and both our parents live 60 miles away and we visit them fairly often, and with work being fairly slow at the moment we have decided that it would make sense to sell our car and get an oil burner

anyway enough of the sob story emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

i have found BRISKODA to be a great source of information and it helped me to know what to look for when first buying the vrs, and then look after it and hopefully even help to sell it.

So i just thought it would be appropriate to say a BIG THANKYOU to all of the briskoda members and organisers who have took the time out to give me their help & advice over the last year which has undoubtably helped me get to the bottom and resolve a few problems that i had with the car, which then led on to me being able to enjoy it.

ill be very sad to let it go, its just one of those type of cars i suppose.

hopefully my circumstances will change in the future and can return to the site and update my profile with the mk2 octavia vrs emoticon-0105-wink.gif

but for now THANKS AGAIN emoticon-0148-yes.gif

regards

Good luck with the sale and new car. Maybe when you come back you might be in for a mk3 VRS :D

I agree that the forum is one of the best around and has already cost me a small fortune in necessary improvements. (RARB and coilovers in the next couple of days).

If you can find one thats not been taxid i can recommend the 19TDI elegance.

I regularly get 60 mpg with a 52 plate on a run with the tyres at 34psi!

Its never going to be a vrs but its quick enough for me

cheap to tax and insure as well

Good luck.

There is no need to go :'( just get a skoda oil burner :giggle:

And get 50mpg +

best of luck mate

No need to sell, LPG it. Mine does 80 miles for a tenner on LPG.

All the best, but a lot of people have changed their car a still hang around.....

...and come back fully ;)

Fabia VRS time.

It is a sad time when you have to sell a car that is just what you wanted.

When I had to sell my vrs I hadn't thought of LPG and wish I had thought of it as I wasted loads of money buying a pd130 octavia and then changing the suspension/brakes/clutch/decat + miltek exhaust & remap, still it made it as quick as the vrs but had the sleeper look and the mpg I wanted.

Have a good luck around before you decide to sell it to make sure you get something else that you want, don't compare it to the vrs though as you'll be heartbroken if you do then sell it for something else.
