I believe it is because the analogue speedo is only calibrated for MPH and you have to have a KPH readout also by law

oh thats poo, although most stupid thing of the design - speedo!

Goes up in 10mph increments from 0-80 then suddenly jumps to 20mph increments, noticed it does this on the Superb as well, not a very good idea i think personally!
