New Owner from Sweden

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I am new to this site and wanted to introduce myself......hello from the Pradster.!

I have just purchased an 06MY Octavia VRS 2 Estate in magic black with just under 90k km showing.

I have been looking on this forum with some interest as I would like, at some point, to put a stage 1 tune, whether that be a chip or remap....

I understand the 2.0T FSI unit from the Golf Mk V GTI can be tuned up to 250hp without any issues and more importantly without having to upgrade other components...is this true?

How reliable is the engine after the tune, has anyone experienced any problems even with a FSH...?

I am an Englishman based in Sweden, and looking at the Swedish tuners here www.hi-tuning.com they offer a chip conversion stage 1 giving an extra +45Hp +75Nm...

Any advise on tuning would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hi Welcome,

I cant offer much advise on TFSI remaps or chips yet, but you will find plenty of info especially in the Octy 2 section and Performance & tuning. However, I have just taken advantage of a Shark Performance group buy (you've just missed unfortuneately  ) but it might be something to look at as you dont have to take the car to the them if you get an STS. Not sure how the prices compare to your local prices.

Thanks lozparry.

I am assuming the Shark kit is a remap and the STS is the diagnostic tool you can buy to load the SW over the OBD2 connector ?

The fact that I missed on a great group offer, I am assuming Shark are Briskoda members preferred choice.....I will check the Octy 2 section to understand why.....

Thanks again.
