loss of power in Skoda Fabia

Featured Replies

My car has started to lose power under acceleration.

The engine still runs but at a reduced power.

I have to re-start to get the powere back.

I should add that it is a diesel

Does it have DPF ?

Hi and welcome aboard.

Welcome to Briskoda, is this a 1.4 TDI?

Hello meagain,

Seems your car has gone into 'LIMP MODE' where the onboard computer has detected a fault, and steps in to stop any serious damage being caused, and reduces power available.

You need to have a fault detector from at a garage (SKODA)? plugged into car, to pinpoint fault, and correct.

Sorry I can't offer any better advice at the moment, perhaps another member has a more satisfactory solution.??emoticon-0124-worried.gif

Certainly sounds like limp mode with a re-start clearing the problem. Where in England are you?

Perhaps contact a local (to you) member with VCDS(vag-com) to plug you in and see what's up

Oh, and welcome to Briskoda :hi:

Thanks for that.

I am near Peterborough Cambs by the way.

I did not know there was a limp mode.

But then again at my age limp mode should be the norm.

I will need to get it looked at.
