Hello all,

I'm considering changing the OEM Swing that came with my 2010 Octavia and googling I came across this link:

Pioneer AVIC-F9110BT

Since i'm half a world away, shipping the unit is not going to be cheap; so I was wondering if any one had seen/bought this unit and any thoughts about it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hmm looks pretty good, but 1st thing you need to know is how much it costs. Ouch £899 +vat +delivery so about £1000. Thats an awful lot of cash.

Thanks for the comment BillyT1903.

I know, that's what has me undecided still. Also, to the shipping I have to add the local taxes; so yes, is ends up being very expensive.

Have you considered a Columbus Unit firect from one of the sellers in E Europe...?

Usually retails at about £400 GBP + delivery. A damn sight cheeper option and you get bigger screen, hard drive and full integration with your car.

Thanks essexskoda, I had tried that route already, but there are a few issues with that solution:

1) No Maps for Central America/North America

2) No Bluetooth (Have to buy the separate bluetooth unit under the drivers seat , very expensive)

3) No Rear view Camera (Have to buy a whole bunch of parts to get that working, very expensive)

I was looking at Kenwood DNX520VBT that also looks promissing, then again is not cheap.

Thanks any how... emoticon-0100-smile.gif

Looking through the web, there are maps for the RNS510 for the US and S America.

I have a coluimbus and use a Fiscon bluetooth module.

The columbus works very well with the optical parking sensors.

Fiscon bluetooth is far better than any VW one.

Fiscon price is approx £300 GBP, I am sure you can get it cheaper I just bought mine direct from Fiscon.

Well good luck with finding a unit that suits you. If I come across anything I will stick it on here.

Hmmm. :S

The biggest flow of stolen sports/luxury/4x4 vehicles appears to be via organised crime to Eastern Europe

The biggest source of premium parts seems to come from Eastern Europe

Go figure...
