do i sell it,or dont i ?

Featured Replies

hello all, i have owned my vrs occy for about 7 months now and i really do love the car,but in that time iv spent just over £1200 pound on repairs(the latest one being an injector problem, read my blog). The car is running good at the moment, but im starting to lose faith in her a bit know..............so,what do you guys think??? should she stay,or should she go?????

Why don't you splash out on an aftermarket warranty ? Might give you a warmer fuzzier feeling about keeping the car. I think Warranty Direct were quoting around £350 for my Scout and that's evreything included as far as I'm aware. I'll certainly be looking at getting one considering all the issues with the ESP boxes etc.. plus mine's already had a turbo at 14k and maybe on for another at 26k ( depending on what the garage say ) and they're £1700 a chuck. Still when the car's running ok it's brill fun to drive.

Always a tough one!

It's easy to get disheartened about a car when the bills start coming in, which of course they will do at some point in the vehicles life and with some owner!

Try and look at the positives and negatives of any action. You have just spent £1,200 so what would you also lose if you added depreciation into the mix as well as what you would have to spend extra to get another car? On the other hand a you might get more security with another vehicle if it had the balance of the dealer/manufacture warranty with it.

I guess the equation is as follows:

New car = Definite financial outlay

Present car = Possible financial outlay

As I said, always a tough one!
