bulbs ordered

Featured Replies

Hi all

After the long summer it seems very apparent that the Octy needs better headlights for the winter months, coming home last night I had to check they were on, always had decent ones on the Fab and they impressed so decided to upgrade the Octy, just ordered a pair of Philips "power2night's" with a free pair of philips "blue-vision" side lights for free from power bulbs (£17 all in with a 10% discount I found on the web).

I went for "plus 50's" this time rather than the higher rated "plus 80's" as I have had the Night breakers and the Xtremes before and been disapointed with the failiure rate, hopefully these will be a nice compromise between performance and reliability.

Hopefully not gonna give a chavy blue but a strong white light, anybody had any experience with this combo?

Hopefully arriving tomorrow so when fitted I will update you on the hopeful improvements!

cheers

I've not had experience with the +50%s but agreed the +80%s have a very short shelf life.

I had one Phillips X-Treme fail after 9 months so replaced both with Nightbreakers and they only lasted about the same time as well!

Shame as they are so much better than the regular bulbs.

Yes, its pretty bad, and very common for these to pop after only a year or so.

I have noticed that the Nightbreakers have a new "longer life" version, but just could bring myself to trust them, probably just a new box! along with a new marketing campaign!
