New Greenline 1.2 Diesel Estate

Does anyone know if the new Greenline 1.2 diesel estate has gloveboxes with closing lids or are they the open type as on the fabia S? Not clear at all in the brochure. Many thanks.

I don't know as I haven't seen one but I'd have thought it would be standard like it was on the old Greenline.

If you are going to order one and you would like the glovebox covers get the dealer you buy it off to order it with the option code PKT I 99% certain that's the code for glovebox covers on the Fabia 1/S and it's £40 so it's not expensive if it's something you want and if it transpires that in fact it is standard just get the dealer to fill it with diesel instead.

The czech site also shows the vast majority of Fabia variants as fitted with 165-70-14 tyres !!!

The parcel shelves of basic versions are nothing like the much larger closed glovebox versions so I dont see how a retrospectively fitted cover would work. Certainly I wouldnt be happy with cheap shelves version....

I have just spoken to the dealer and they could not confirm if the car comes with shelves or glove-box, will inquire next week.

More worrying was I asked if build week was still next week and the answer was yes planned for week 37 but not confirmed.

I think I will be one of the first people to get a Greenline ii in the UK, Along with CT17 and BDG. BDG ordered his after mine and we both have the same planned build week, with different expected delivery dates September and October.

Interestingly I was expecting delivery at the end of September or early October. They are now quoting November, but saying it could come forward a bit.

But that is not a great surprise, when we ordered the Yeti it was planned for late June or early July delivery and it appeared at the beginning of August.

Raisbeck, I do not see a problem with the common rail engine. My Peugeot 306 2.0HDI was brill and one reason I bought a Citroen Berlingo 2.0HDI - it's the same engine.

I have been driving a common rail diesel on cheap supermarket fuel for 9 years without a problem and do not see a problem with the Greenline II -time will tell.

Still driving the Citroen, the Peugeot (company car) had in excess of 120,000 miles on the clock when I left.

Its equally proven as they used it in the Octavia range before the Fabias. Loads of taxi drivers love them and really rack up the miles. I hear they are more 'driveable' a bit like a petrol engine.

A lot of people find reasons to cast doom and gloom over new ideas (yes I know common rail isnt new as a concept). I remember people predicting catalytic converters failing everywhere when they came in.......never happened.

When the PD first came in I expect the doomsayers said it would never last..........they obviously got bored waiting for the PD to fail and moved on to waiting for the comon rails to go. Hope they have a lot of patience :smirk:

Now the PD engines are gone...We're all DOOOMED, DOOOOOMED...I say!!

This week...I have mostly been speaking "Bol*ocks"!

Just spoken to Skoda UK and they say the Greenline II comes with one covered glove-box as shown on the Chech website.

But time will tell.

When I got my company 306 HDI it replaced an old style diesel company car.

I would say the only time you can really tell the Citroen is a diesel is out side the car and in crawling traffic when I can take my foot off the accelerator and just trundle along. In the Berlingo the engine is not as fast or as fuel friendly, then again the Berlingo's shape is more like a brick than a car.

I have been driving diesel cars for over 10 years and when I worked out the total cost of the Greenline II and 1.2 TSI over 3 and 6 years the Greenline was just cheaper and a lot cheaper to run- which did surprise me.

I can confirm the Greenline II has covered top and bottom glove box's.

Ordered mine week 26, it is now showing build week 44 (not happy).

Test drove one yesterday for a couple of hours though.

MJC4X4tdi, I ordered mine week 29, and it was delivered week 39.

I do have to say though the dealer did say they had three on order as stock models and they would change the spec on one of them to match my car - I added rear parking sensors and electric windows.
