Optimum intercooler pipe size

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am a proud posesor of Skoda Octavia VRS and I have a question

I want to change my SMIC with a FMIC

so, what is the optimum intercooler pipe size?

With the ''search'' I can't find anything.

Sorry if my english is poor,I'm waiting for some answers.

Thanks.

Hi mate sure most folks run with 2.5" p IC pipes.

thank for your answer, but it's any formula to calculate this?because I think and I read the pipe size is directly proportional with the power of the car.

Dont forget if you are chaning to an FMIC you need to get the car remapped as well. Simply changing to a FMIC will typically result in less power output, as the factory map is designed around the SMIC. The airflow through an FMIC is very different and the turbo boost must be adjusted to make allowances for its increased mass.

The car is already remap(ABT),it also have exhaust turbo-back and itg replacement filter with box filter modified to 3,5in admision.

On the other sites I've read that the inlet pipe IC must have different size from the outlet. In fact the inlet is a little smaller then the outlet.

Anyone who measured his pipes?

For example Forge. What size they have?(interior diameter IC and pipes)
