Just so you know. The new iPhone O/S doesn't have RSAP. Just tried to connect it to the car and it says not compatible

Nor does the old one! A software update cant add rSAP - thats upto Apple to make hardwrae changes. You need to change your phone module if you want it to work.

Codswallop ! :)

rSAP (remote SIM Access Profile) is a Bluetooth software feature that implements a set of software services and communication protocols. I enabled rSAP on an HTC S620 Windows Mobile by upgrading the software from Windows Mobile v5 to v6.5.

Apple (and others such as Google) have chosen not to implement rSAP as the North American market hasn't demanded it, largely as a consequence of carriers being split between CDMA and GSM (rSAP is relevant only to GSM). GSM is ubiquitous in Europe and the rest of the world and Nokia have done a good job of motivating the European car manufacturers to adopt rSAP. RIM have been implementing rSAP in most of their latest handsets, Microsoft introduced rSAP as a feature in Windows Mobile 6. I suspect Apple and Google will have to catch up soon if they want to continue expanding into the European business market.

Best regards
