VAG-COM with PDA

Featured Replies

If i bought VAG-COM could the program be downloaded and used on a PDA? Would be quite cool if you could tinker whilst on the move? Sorry if this is a stupid question but i'm new to this sort of thing

These guys were working on a PDA version of VAG Com. Quite how well it works I have no idea, but it seems to be the only option for PDA users at the mo.

Ive just downloaded this, where to get a cable for my pda though???

Is the OBDII port just a serial port then? If I were to pop to my local Maplins could I purchase the usb converter to serial and then be ready to go with this

?

cheers

No. If you pull down the little glove box beside the steering wheel all the way so it unclips, you will see the OBD port. it is purple in colour.

The amount of data transferred means the usb-serial is not recommended.

Yeah I just had a look :(

Does anyone know of any cheap alternative to connecting a pda to the OBD port?

Cheers for the advice chaps :)

Today I've stumbled into ProDiag's website... maybe that's what you're looking for!

Same question as Walkie really. If your "vag com" cable is serial connector, how to connect to the pda. Serial to usb/hotsynch cable?

I have the serial to hotsynch cable.

I have the PDA

I just need to get the VAG-Com Cable+software...am I right?

The site linked seems to suggest the null model adapter is not required, np if it have one in the loft or maplins if not.

Now using vag check with the pda and a serial OBD cable of ebay and a 2m null modem cable...need to order the slim line one from RS Comps, coupled to the serial to pda cable.

It finds and shows the groups fine, logging is prooving interesting...lots of quick goes have some spreadhseets ready for data, just need some data.

Nice one Colin

I think I may the equipment to do this so might give it a go.
