Silicon hoses vs fabric covered hoses

Featured Replies

I am looking at replacing my vacuum hoses around the turbo/n75/etc

Using some numbers from Richard:

3.5 x 2 N 0203535 Skoda 5m, £8.09+vat

5.0 x 3 N 0202821 Skoda 5m, £13.77+vat

Part Co don't seem to have anything suitable in stock, but a local company to me (Mechanical Services in Weymouth) are going to have a look at the car tomorrow and see if they can get me some silicon hoses, but suggested that the cost would be $lots$.

Essentially I seem to be loosing vacuum when in slow moving/stationary traffic (turbo fails to work when I pull away, so I assume the vanes have dropped back to min-boost position), but cycling the ignition cures it. Some of my hoses have seen better days, and replacing them is the cheapest place to start (before I get to vacuum pump, n75 valve and so forth)

Cant answer your question but if your in Dorset, give APD (poole) a call (VW specialist) They are great and can normally plug you into VAG.COM when they get a spare few minutes.

Are they still trading? http://www.apd-vag.co.uk/ does not have any contact details or an address.....

Yeah i was there the other day with a misfire. I just turned up, they plugged me in and diagnosed a faulty ignition coil. See what you mean about the website  but they are on 01202621761 Wareham Road, Holton Heath, Poole, BH16 6JW
