Thanks. I`ll see what i can get. wonder if silver octavia ones will fit?

just rang the dealer, apparently the covers are grey and i can have some next week.

I got Audi ones for mine - they're all the same at the end of the day. :D

I whizzed mine off as they would be a right pain to remove on a cold wet motorway hard shoulder. Mind you have you tried lining up the wheel when you are trying to put it back on! S'pose covers would be the least of your problems on reflection.

Yeah, definately should be dark greyish black covers.

I remembered when I first got the car and on my first look thought "wot - no locking wheel nuts"??

I then toddled off and bought a 30 pound set of nuts.

Tried to fit them and realised - DOH!!! Covers!! And under the covers we have a locking nut on each wheel!

Y'kno until then I didnt even know wheen nut covers existed so good job I didn't get your Fabia or I'd be none the wiser!

While on the subject of covers.... if you were as thick as me when it came to trying to get damn things of and ended up scratching alloys when using pliers.....

Look in your tool kit in the boot.... there is either a little black plastic or metal clip (guessing metal on cars since Y plate as i had plastic clip that but me '02 has a plastic clip) which simple clicks over them to pull them off.... much easier!!

The plastic u shaped puller is for the nut covers.

The little metal ring with the hook on the end is for pulling off centre caps (if fitted)

The plastic u shaped puller is for the nut covers.

My U shaped puller is metal on this one, old car had plastic... i'm guessing its just whats in stock @ time of manufacture can't be because its an 'Elegance'.... god that would be funny though... read what car has in brochure and there is a dot that elegance comes with "Chromed Wheel Nut Cover Remover"!!..... thats it gotta have that car!!

The plastic caps are meant to be difficult to get off???

The way mine flew off when the car was jet washed a few months back you'd never have known!

Got my dad to check his a a few weer loose so if you've never looked at them in anger I'd suggest giving them a press every time you check your tyre pressures - just to be safe.

I'd check your spare wheel well as it is very common for them not to be fitted during the cars pdi and they are left lying in the boot!

The metal ring pull thingy is for pulling off VW black wheel nut covers as fitted to Golfs, Passats etc. These plastic wheel nut covers have a small hexagonal hole in the middle. I think these covers look better on alloy wheels than the Skoda ones. Why Skoda include this puller in the Fabia 'tool kit' is anybody's guess.

I want to get my wheel off. I checked the tool kit for the prastic U shaped tool and its not there.

I have only got the vw/audi metal pull thing. I have a gap where it looks like the U shoud be and a screwdriver.....are these missing from my kit?

My octy was missing the nut cap removal thingy and I had to spend the best part of an hour removing them all with two screw drivers. A quick hunt around at work and I found an ideally shaped pair of tongs, u shaped with hooked over tips (think it was originally an EEPROM remval tool for some antique lab equipment.)

It now sits happily in my wheel well tool kit....as they say...

"Re-use, re-cycle , rob"

Sometime the black bit is hanging from the wheel brace. They come in two lengths and the longer one doesn't fit in the holder.

I had none come with mine (was a set of steels after all) so got some good value silver caps with a plastic puller off ebay.

Thanks for the help, think ill get one for that price

Has anyone sprayed them another colour?
