Pipe routing on vRS

Featured Replies

Hello Briskodians. I have had a boost guage sitting in my workshop for a couple of months awaiting fitment it has been put off a fair few times due to car not behaving but think I have got this sussed finally, so its time for the boost guage so thought I would ask you how you did it.

I dont think I have any concerns on how to fit boost guage or how to wire up the lighting (thanks to somebodys website on here  )

The thing that has got me thinking is how did you all get the pipe from under bonnet to the in car guage? Im mounting the guage onto of the steering column.

Now im not been lazy but due to a shoulder injury awaiting an op I really would like to be able to get an idea where to get the pipe in the car and with any luck crawl around under the dash once maybe twice and get the job sorted anymore than that then I will need somebody on standby to drag me out of the car when the shoulder says its had enough lol

Pictures would be great if anyone has any they would like to share

Cheers

Dont have any pics sorry, there are several grommits in the bulkhead like where the bonnet release cable goes through (follow it from the handle to see) however i do prefer the grommits that are vertical in the bulkhead (higher up in the scuttle panel) rather than the lower ones ie for the cable release which sit horizontally as if these grommits are not sealed properly by the fact its near the drain in the scuttle tray and the fact that the sit flat means they can leak water, have seen this several times in octavias including my own.

Just make sure you seal them properly whichever one you use, i used clear silicone on top of the grommit too.

Take out the underdash tray or glovebox (depending which side you use....logic dictating the drivers side) to obtain better access.
