Hi all,

I spent last Friday afternoon at my friend Marks house

most of you on here know him as foey

He invited me over to sample some of his car cleaning products and give the

old girl a good clean.

He showed me a range of different potions for car cleaning the likes

of which I have never used before, I was always of the opinion that

the more expensive products were a rip off and did exactly the same

job as the cheaper gear. Needless to say I was proved wrong :D

The product which stood out for me was the Poorboys Black Hole show glaze. :o

A must have for anybody with a black or dark car IMO.

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/glazes/poorboys-black-hole/prod_494.html

It has transformed my car, the colour is sooooo much deeper and the car felt

smoother than glass after application. After, We found a nice spot and Mark

took a load of pics of my reborn Furby. I'd like to share them with you all.

Starting with my favourite.

Very nice looking car. I hope mine will be approaching that sort of shineyness once I've collected it and given it a thorough going over.

I use different products (have some Poorboys for rubber and plastic though) but generally agree, there are some products that make the job a whole lot easier.

thats Ãœber shiney!!!!

I've never seen her looking so good since the day I bought her

Thanks Leon

Looking good man!

Love the oldschool rear lights! and those fogs are defo worth a

Im not one for a Standard car (esp the height) but what you have done has really done it justice!

Cheers Phil, I'm not done yet... I have more plans, but plans need cash...

rear wiper mod is all I can afford at the mo ;)

Looks fantastic mate...

I can't believe how well it came up.

Agreed, rear lights and fogs really set it off

Cheers Mark, I have you to thank mate. Thanks for a great afternoon.

My poorboys is in the post

looks really good mate !!

Thanks Terry, We'll get another meet lined up soon...

Looking clean Garry...

Was that all done by hand??? - you're still welcome to borrow my porter cable if you need any correction work done.

I know I can't really talk, but imo the car needs lowering and a Cupra R splitter

Thanks Gareth

That was no more than 2 hours work, at a leisurely pace and all by hand.

Thanks for the offer I still may take you up on it. I may eventually go for -25mm springs and shocks.

Still not sure about the splitter yet

Ta Buzzark, I honestly didn't belive my eyes when we were done.... I keep looking out of the window at it :D

Me like tasty exhaust..

Thanks, me too. When I saw one on Gaz_vrs's silver Furby I just had had to have it....

That's very nice indeed. What LSP are you using over the black hole please?

Cheers for that. I presume LSP is wax?

I'm still very new to all these fancy polishes and stuff. That day we just washed and Poorboys. No wax on there yet

Still trying to decide what to go for but have been recommended Collinite No. 476S - Super Doublecoat Auto Wax

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/collinite-no-476s-super-doublecoat-auto-wax/prod_207.html

Looks good Garry, very nice... :

Ever thought of lamin-x(ing) the front lights, just thinking it might add to that stealthy look!

Much obliged, It has crossed my mind as it happens, I thought I'd have a practice first on my tails and fogs.

But really I want to tone down the interior next but that's expensive so that might be it for a few months.

Thank you all for your comments

While all my Last Stage Products are synthetic sealants, I've heard nothing but good things about the Collinite wax. If I didn't have plenty of stuff to use, I'd probably buy some of that as potentially 12 months of protection sounds very good.

I only have turtle wax in my garage and it's messy, green and powdery when you buff it off.

The collinite sounds like a much better bet. Foeys car always looks gorgeous and that's what he uses.

Read somewhere that it's a bit smelly, but I don't mind that.

looking good, like the front & rear black badging emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Thanks Mark, Main dealer item. Approx £7.50 each. Needed some modification and bending slightly to fit the curves.

that'll put mine to shame...you know i only clean mine when i meet you lot. ;)

Dean, we'll have to get on that then. Maybe you could pop over to mine for a pampering sesh when my new

stuff arrives ;)

Look great mate

Can i ask were you got all your black skoda badges from

Thanks mate, As above, main dealer I think the part number is 1Z0 103 940 D but do check before ordering.

You'll also need some good quality double sided foam tape for sticking them on to the car.

It's also worth noting that they are about 5mm smaller in diameter than the proper badge.

But you can barely tell...

How did you tint your foglights?

That looks awesome!

Thanks Frigger :giggle: I used a 4" x 12" piece of yellow lamin X.

I did them off of the car as it's easier to do when you're not grovelling around on the floor.

I also used yellow Osram All Season bulbs in there to complete the effect.

The part tints on the rear are also lamin X in Gunsmoke.

Thanks for the comments once again.

Lookin' good. Yep, Black Hole does work very well with VAG Black Magic paint B)

It can be made to look shinier and glossier though :)

I'd second your choice of Collinite 476S. What I did when I did a full detail on my last Fab is after Black Hole, I did two coats of 476S, then a final coat of Blackfire Midnight Sun. That way you get a concourse type finish, with a really durable system on there as the 476S will easily last 9+ months plus and still bead nicely, even when the Midnight Sun has broken down...

Anyone would think I've owned 3 Black Fabias or something... :dull::rofl:

Keep up the good work, it's looking great

Cheers,

Steve
