I have a facelift VRs that I bought in June, love the car but can't get on with the seat. I have tried adjusting it in every way possible but can't find a setting I like and find the seat very narrow especially the rear of the base. I am tall (6'5") and although I'm not fat I'm fairly big, I had a 56 plate VRs for 3 years before this one and whilst I never found that seat brilliant I could live with it, this new one is causing me real grief and I need to do something about it. I went to Capital Seating in Leicester and they let me try a few Recaro seats, there is one that feels really good but its not cheap and if I only buy one its going to look wrong. So before I commit I thought I'd ask if anyone has any other ideas? Another VAG car seat may be a good option?

I've found the leather option vRS seats to be more comfortable that the pre f/l fabric seats. They seem not to be so narrow across the seat base.

Hi Brian. Firstly, could it just be the lumbar support isn't working on your seat? Can you feel it firming up as you wind the knob? Is the passenger seat the same?

If you do want to go down the Recaro route, buy direct from Recaro UK in the next 3 weeks, mentioning Edition 38 show discount and you can get 20% off. The best ones in my opinion are the Sportster CSs. Assuming I can get my car fixed for minimal outlay in the next couple of weeks I'm getting a pair myself. With the discount they work out at £1475 a pair iirc including mounting kit, vat and delivery or £1850 in full proper leather. That said, if you're finding the standard VRS seats too narrow then I don't think Sportster CSs would be for you. Anyway, the 20% off applies to all Recaros. Thanks both for the replys, I have sent you a pm Nick for the Recaro code which could be really useful cheers. The lumbar support seems to work fine but its too low and makes the discomfort worse. I'll perhaps try the dealers to see what they say about leather option seats, see if they are wider and better for me

There's no discount code as such, just say you want to buy with the show discount they were promoting at the Edition 38 show (4th and 5th of Sep) (worked out to 20%). They said they'd honour that pricing for 4 weeks after the show, so you've got 3 weeks left. They did the same discount at the Deutsch Connection show a couple of months ago.
