Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Been thinking of getting the Skoda parking sensors for the furby but my drilling skills are worse than a blind mans......... did a quick Google and came up with this.......

Clicky

Has any one used one?

Does anyone know of any others?

thanks

Can I stick these on my wheels? :giggle:

Get a HU with AV out and plug a camera on the rear/front? Alternatively go budget for ebay ones @ £25 odd.. They're not too bad at all. pretty straight forward to fit too.

But in all honestly, bumpers are for bumping

the only problem with that is where to mount the cam without it sticking out like a saw thumb

I fitted a set to SWMBO's Golf about 18 months ago - in future I would buy and fit the usual type ones requiring holes drilling.

Depending on size of cam could you not stick it where the rear number plate light is? Alternatively Im sure one can be mounted on the rear window somewhere (top corner?) and then use some clever mirror angles to get the view you need..?

But the strip thing above looks interesting..!

They tend to be a lot more careful when you have one too.

I considered the parking dynamic system, but read some reviews that said that they weren't that good. I decided to go for the conventional type of sensors. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/REVERSING-PARKING-SENSORS-COLOUR-CODED-YOUR-CAR-/300429637132?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45f300760c

No real problems in fitting them and the hole positions are pre marked on the Fabia 2. On the Mk 1 they were set into the black trim on the rear bumber.

Never really felt the need for parking sensors on a Fabia - visibility is good and the car's not that big.

Or is that just me?

I agree.. However a Yaris would be even EASIER to park without hitting things... want me to post a pic of my gf's car..? :peek:

Very useful - had one on an older car when female had foot slip off brake at lights .Result - my Cav slightly dented tow-bar, her Fiat - soiling the highway , giving out oil and water .,and not looking too well .

I'm pretty sure that should equal an immediate re-test, if a Yaris can't be parked without contact :wonder:

 Shes a little better now, think her instructor was a bit crap tbh (BSM?). I had to 'remind' her some stuff when we got together (because I kept feeling car sick after hitching a ride..)

Right, can't grab a pic because im away. will do when I get back sometime in the week :D

Now ,whether or not it's a cheaper option - I get wifey to guide me in in tight situations. ( and at sixty - there's not a lot of them, in the house :smirk: )
