Hard wiring sat nav

Featured Replies

Hello, just got sat nav and liking it alot, great little gadget. It is one of thoose that is encompassed in a pocket pc, everything is in one unit including the ariel. I have it attached to the winscreen on the right hand side and it runs off the battery, however looking to hard wire a power cable. Was thinking of bringing the cable up through the right hand side air vent but where can i connect it to get a power feed, runs of cigarette lighter but dont want to use that.

If you want to run a feed to it its best to go up the side of the dash. If you take the end cap of the dash (around the fuse box) and the a pillar trim you can feed the wire up and it wont be seen at all.

Plenty of 12v ffeds around the back of the fuse box. If your really swish and handy at electrics you could get some connectors for the fuse box and use a spare slot for your sat nav.
