Whats the best wheel sealant

Featured Replies

as you may or may not know i'm going to be picking up my alloys from the refurb shop in the next couple of days, i'm looking for a sealent thats good value for money.

what do you use, how easy is it to use also because i've never used a sealent on alloys before is it the same as sealing our car after a polish?

please help :giggle::thumbup:

There are so many

AG Wheel seal is good

Poorboys Wheel Sealer in very good

Rimwax is very good Migliore Wheel seal is very good

Jetseal 109 is very good

Personally Ive tried them all and I find Bilt Hamber Autobalm is superb..but its not intended to be a wheel sealer

Although not marketed as a Wheel Sealer, CG Jetseal 109 gets my vote, not the cheapest but has the advantage of being used as it's primary intention for the paintwork. Like any wax or sealant it's simple applied, left to cure and then buffed off, really does repel brake dust and withstands very high temperatures..........

ive used poorboys on the octy wheels so will report back soon :) does give the wheels a great shine! :)

i've just gone for the AG stuff simply because it was cheap! i'll see how it goes.

I use planet polish wheel sealant. Its really good

Jetseal 109. Nothing comes close for me.

Then I often layer two coats of Collinite 476S over the top, if I have time. They look very nice as a result with a decent gloss, while providing really good levels of durability and protection for the wheel

That's what I'll be doing anyway, when I have mine back on Saturday.

Steve

Another vote for Jetseal, easy to apply, very durable, and a great finish - what more would you want.

After all of a sudden becoming obsessed with detailing world looks like people either use the wax that they use for the car which seems to be either collinite 476s,915... Jetseal 109 or FK1000p

Good question .....

I got some fresh wheels coming soon, is it ok to double on products e.g. AG wheel seal and Poorboys.

Also how long roughly would a product last before re-applying.

What did I say? ;)

I don't use Jetseal on bodywork though, but there's no reason why not. You'd use it as the middle stage between polish and wax though, not as a LSP (last stage product, i.e. wax).

No probs doing that mate. I'd probably do AG first and then Poorboys, if those are the products you have available.

Longevity - all depends on mileage done, type of journeys, how much brake dust they get coated with etc etc, and how often they're washed. With Jetseal and 476S applied on mine, I've had beading and good protection for 6+ months.

By protection I mean visible beading on the wheel and a good amount of grime just running off when they get rinsed down during a car cleaning session :) Then a small amount of normal car shampoo solution and they're easily clean and shiny again

Cheers,

Steve

mucoff silica wheel sealant is good imo emoticon-0148-yes.gif
