Aftermarket Stereo fitment - expertise required!

Featured Replies

Am going to change my headunit to aftermarket - willi need one of these?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PC5-90-Autoleads-Amplified-ISO-DIN-Aerial-Adaptor-/150390348241?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Terminals_Cabling_ET&hash=item2303f699d1

Its is listed as Fabia 2000- 2005

I am assuming that my 2007 vRS will have the same aerial set up?

I have bought an Autoleads single DIN facia surround too. Can anyone point me in the right direction of the correct removal keys as there seems to a couple of different types show up.

There is also an Autoleads adaptor harness listed for the car 'to enable a direct plug in' I thought that all newer stereos and cars used the ISO system. Can anyone confirm what this harness is does/is for? Is it purely a case of a wire swap? I beleive there are 2 wires that have to be swapped round?

can this be done in the existing harness connectors and this adaptor done away with?

Also people have mentioned in the past about getting power on the CAN L system and it doing something to the central locking?

Also can it have possible issues with VAGCOM software?

ANY advice or tips and knowledge GRATEFULLY received.

YHPM ;)

VAG COM won't be affected

No need to buy an extra harness as it will fit direct

Swap the red and yellow wires around in order to keep the permanent memory (no soldering/re-wiring necessary as you will see as they are bullet connected)

Break a hacksaw blade in half and use as radio keys ( i found popping the 2 side panels out and the lower tray best for seeing what you are doing and getting the keys in the right place)

You will need an amplifier but if that picture is correct it's the wrong fitting so i'd double check it as i think it's the iso to iso connection that you need

According to dynamic sounds the aerial amplifier is different from 2005 onwards so you would need THIS one instead

hope this helps
